JENNIFER SPRAGINS BARR: At Standeffer & Harbin, we do a number of different types of cases. But I focus my practice exclusively on medical malpractice and nursing home abuse cases.

Prior to handling claims on behalf of persons injured by nursing homes, I worked for the nursing home industry as a defense lawyer and handled numerous claims from the other side of the case. So I have a perspective of being able to understand how the case will be defended, which I believe is an advantage in handling the claim on behalf of the nursing home resident.

To our clients, the nursing home case or the medical malpractice case that they have is the single most important thing in their life. They have a loved one that they lost or was injured at the hands of a nursing home or hospital or a physician. It's the single most important thing to them. And it's very rewarding to me to be able to help them with that and be a part of their lives and reach some kind of resolution.
