Dave Standeffer handles Trials and cases before all State and Federal Courts. He is a Board Certified Civil Trial Advocate by The National Board of Trial Advocacy as a result of meeting the rigorous qualification requirements and passing the written national examination. He is recognized by the South Carolina Bar as a Civil Trial Specialist. He is a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum based upon his trial verdict and settlements of over One Million Dollars and more. After serving as a Captain in the Army J.A.G. Corps for three years, he practiced law with a firm in Europe for one year, then practiced for one year in Anderson, before joining the Tenth Judicial Circuit Solicitor's Office (Anderson & Oconee counties) for seven years. He has defended or prosecuted seven (7) death penalty murder cases among the thousands of criminal cases he has handled. He served as Anderson County Attorney for two years. Standeffer graduated from Clemson University in 1972 with honors and the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1975. He is a member of the American Association for Justice, South Carolina Association for Justice, the Anderson County, South Carolina & American Bar Associations and the National Association for Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is a member of New Spring church of Anderson, is married and has one child.
He has a peer review rating, determined annonymously by other lawyers, of AV in Martindale Hubbel, the highest possible rating, and is listed in the Bar Register of Preminent Lawyers. He has been named in Super Lawyers and chosen to the top 100 lawyers in South Carolina.
